     Caterpillar Chain

For the caterpillar chain pattern, I once again use rings that are are 3.2mm in diameter, of 20-gauge sterling silver wire. This is a dense, somewhat stiff weave that takes a long time to make. The appearance of the weave goes through subtle changes when viewed from different angles, as demonstrated by the image to the left.

The standard necklace is 15 inches long, which will lie just below the base of the neck on most people. It closes with a lobster-claw clasp, as seen to the right. The standard 15" necklace is $145. For custom lengths over 15", just add $9.75 per inch to find the total price.

Wrist sizes vary wildly, so you will need to calculate the exact cost of a bracelet for you. To do this, measure around your wrist, and then add about an inch for comfort. Make sure that the bracelet isn't large enough to slip off past your hand! Price, once again, is $9.75 per inch. Like the necklaces, the bracelet fastens with a lobster-claw clasp.

For those who have pierced ears, I also make caterpillar chain earrings, as seen to the right. They hang from sterling silver french hooks. These french hooks are bent where they hold the earring, so that the weight hangs directly uner your ear, instead of in front of it. The earrings hang about 1 1/3 inches long, priced at $25 per pair.

Earrings can be converted to clip-on upon request. Price per pair is $25.
